On August 12, the Elk Grove City Council held its 14th regular meeting of 2026. The meeting lasted about one hour and 35 minutes.

There was only one hearing on the agenda: a discussion of a new ordinance governing the use of e-bikes on the city's trail network. The city council also received the regular social calendar update from City Manager Jason Behrmann and comments on the city's Flock license plate reader program and the police department's purchase of a new half-million-dollar armored urban response vehicle.
