'Stick it to Trump' - TV Commercial for Yes on Prop. 50

The Yes on California's Proposition 50 has another supporter in its quest to redraw California's Congressional districts for the 2026 midterm elections.

Another billionaire, Tom Steyer, is using his wealth and influence in the battle over Proposition 50. Yesterday, Steyer's Yes on 50 campaign (StickittoStrump.com) began airing a TV commercial, capitalizing on President Donald Trump's unpopularity in California.

The commercial (see the video below) shows the President in the White House watching TV and reacting negatively when hearing the election night results. The commercial depicts French fries falling on the floor as the President hurls ketchup at the TV screen, a scene reminiscent of his reported actions during his first term.

Steyer's the second California billionaire to weigh in on Proposition 50 and is reportedly using $12 million of his own funds. Billionaire Charles Munger Jr. has donated $10 million to the No side.

A longtime Democratic activist, Steyer was a presidential candidate in 2020 but dropped out after failing to win any delegates. Today, Politico is reporting that Steyer is eyeing a run for California governor in 2026.
