Mai Vang takes on ICE, Political Establishment in Congressional Campaign Video

One of the current hot political topics, ICE enforcement practices, particularly in the Chicago area, was addressed in a video this afternoon by Democratic Sacramento City Councilmember and Congressional candidate Mai Vang.

In her video (see below) posted on social media, Vang, who is a progressive Democrat, condemned the practices of ICE, which she characterized as antithetical to the American Constitution. While Vang joins the voices of other Democrats, progressives, and some traditional Republicans, she does not limit her criticism to the Trump administration and the MAGA movement.

In a jab at fellow Democrat Congresswoman Doris Matsui, Vang claimed the ICE budget has tripled since 25. That is the same year Ms. Matsui was elected to represent Sacramento (and now Elk Grove) in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Vang calls out the "political establishment," saying the current ICE enforcement policies have been festering for years under both Democratic and Republican administrations.

"The political establishment has failed us, and they are the ones that created the conditions that we have now to allow extremist leaders like Trump to try to take over this country."

Vang also listed several actions people can take to address the current national political situation. See Vang's entire commentary in the video.
