Former Facebook Associate Counsel Appointed to Sacramento Superior Court
One of three appointments.
Gov. Gavin Newsom on Friday appointed Jose Olivera of Yolo County to serve as a judge in the Sacramento County Superior Court, filling the vacancy left by the retirement of Judge Andre K. Campbell.
Olivera has served as director and associate general counsel at Meta Platforms Inc. (Facebook) since 2019. Before joining the company, he worked as an assistant U.S. attorney in the Northern District of California from 2014 to 2019 and as a trial attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice from 2011 to 2014.
A graduate of the University of California, Davis School of Law, Olivera is registered as a Democrat.
Newsom’s announcement also included judicial appointments to the Monterey and Stanislaus County Superior Courts.
