Dr. Richard Pan announced a significant endorsement in his bid for California's 6th Congressional District.

According to information posted on his campaign's social media platforms, Pan announced he has been endorsed by the United Nurses Associations of California/Union of Health Care Professionals, UNAC/UHCP. Those 40,000 union members include registered nurses, pharmacists, optometrists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals.

"Honored to have the endorsement of UNAC/UHCP and their 40,000 nurses and healthcare professionals," Pan said in his endorsement announcement. "I have stood with them to expand coverage and lower healthcare costs for Californians, and I will keep fighting for quality and affordable care for all."

Pan, a Democrat and former California State Senator and Assembly member, is one of the top two candidates seeking the 6th District seat, which Democratic Rep. Dr. Ami Bera currently represents. Bera is now running for the 3rd Congressional District, which Republican Kevin Kiley represents.

The other top-tier candidate in the race is Sacramento County District Attorney Thien Ho, running as a Democrat. The top two finishers, regardless of party affiliation, in California's June primary will advance to the November general election.

A medical doctor by training, Pan has been a longstanding advocate for vaccinations, and addressing healthcare challenges has been one of his campaign's main focuses. Ho, an attorney, has so far focused on rule-of-law issues since entering the race last month.
