Even though he is nominally a member of the Democratic Party, Elk Grove City Councilmember Sergio Robles has campaign finance practices that are antithetical to his party's orthodoxy.
Campaign filings with the Elk Grove City Clerk's Office showed Mr. Robles accepted cash from A PG&E political action committee. Robles also donated to Republican Sacramento County Supervisor Pat Hume.
PG&E has been widely criticized for everything from excessive executive pay to their negligence that contributed to several wildfires in its Northern California service area. Many local Democratic organizations automatically disqualify party members from endorsements if the endorse or financially support Republicans.
As Robles plots his campaign for a second term, he raised $30,943 in 2025, with $20,825 coming in the last six months. Robles entered 2026 with $20,975.
