VIDEO Elk Grove City Council special meeting - Aug. 20, 2026
Mayor Singh-Allen and Councilman were unopposed for their next terms.
On Thursday, August 20, the Elk Grove City Council convened a special meeting in the city council chambers. The purpose of the meeting was the appointment of Mayor Bobbie Singh-Allen and District 2 City Councilman Rod Brewer to another term.
Singh-Allen and Brewer had no candidates file to challenge them for their respective positions in the November 2026 general election. The City Council unanimously approved the appointments, so the city will not place their names on the ballot and will save the costs associated with doing so.
They will be sworn in during an early December City Council meeting, when the winner of the District 4 race will also take their oath. The mayor is a two year term while councilmember are four-year terms.
