Three suspects, including a juvenile, have been arrested in connection with a violent robbery outside an SF Supermarket last month that left a 57-year-old woman briefly dragged by the getaway vehicle, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office announced Thursday.

The suspects were identified as 23-year-old James Freeman and 22-year-old Anthony Richard, both of Sacramento, along with an unnamed male juvenile (see video produced by the Sheriff's Department below). All three were located and taken into custody by Sheriff's Robbery Detectives and Central POP Deputies.

The robbery occurred on October 22, 2025, outside the SF Supermarket on Stockton Boulevard. The female victim, 57, was loading groceries into her vehicle when a car occupied by three males pulled up beside her.

A male juvenile exited the car, grabbed the woman’s purse, and attempted to pull her toward the vehicle. As the victim struggled, the juvenile climbed back into the car while still holding the purse.

The suspect vehicle then sped away, dragging the victim briefly before she lost her grip and fell to the pavement. The suspects fled the scene with the purse.

Central Division POP deputies located the suspect vehicle hours later at a South Sacramento residence, securing it as evidence. The arrests of the three suspects followed.

Court records show that Richard was recently arrested a few weeks prior for a separate robbery while he was en route to court for an unrelated matter. Freeman and Richard are being held without bail and are scheduled to appear in court on Friday.

Information regarding the juvenile court proceedings is not publicly available. The Sheriff's Office encourages anyone with additional information related to the investigation to contact them at (916) 874-5115.
