SHARE Hmong to Host 50 Years of Freedom, Remembrance Day for the Hmong Special Guerrilla Unit

Olivehurst, CA — May 17, 2024 — SHARE Hmong is proud to host the *50 Years of Freedom | Hmong Special Guerrilla Unit Remembrance Day*, a heartfelt event commemorating the bravery, sacrifice, and enduring legacy of the Hmong Special Guerrilla Unit during the Vietnam War era. This important occasion will feature a series of ceremonies, cultural performances, and community activities to honor those who served and remember fallen heroes.
The event will take place on Saturday, May 17, 2024, at the Yuba County Airport, located at 1364 Sky Harbor Drive, Olivehurst, Calif. The day’s activities are scheduled as follows: Event Schedule:
Formal Ceremony & Wreath-Laying: 10 am – 12:30 pm
Cultural Dance & Performances: 1 – 4 Highlights include:*
- A formal tribute recognizing the service and sacrifices of the Hmong Special Guerrilla Unit and all veterans of the Vietnam War.
- Wreath-laying ceremony to honor fallen heroes.
- Presentation of the 50-year Vietnam War lapel pins, symbolizing ongoing gratitude and remembrance.
- Cultural performances showcasing traditional Hmong dances and arts.
- An aircraft display featuring a replica of the T-28 Trojan used during the Vietnam War, arriving during the morning service and available for viewing throughout the day.
