ELK GROVE, Calif. — Peggy Parks, who is challenging Elk Grove City Councilmember Sergio Robles for his District 4 seat, reported raising $3,167 between July 1 and Sept. 19, bringing her campaign’s total donations this year to $4,047.

Parks’ California Form 460 lists 20 itemized contributions totaling $2,675 during the reporting period, plus $492 in smaller, unitemized donations. Because the filing does not give the number of unitemized donations, the overall contribution count cannot be determined. Some supporters contributed more than once.

Robles, elected in 2022 and seeking his second term, has attracted substantially greater financial support. His campaign received $21,700 in seven contributions between Sept. 3 and Sept. 15 alone, according to previously reported campaign disclosures. That followed $8,400 raised during the first six months of the year.

The fundraising disparity suggests Robles holds a campaign edge over Parks, giving him greater resources to reach voters through advertising, mailers and other outreach. Financial support, however, does not establish which candidate voters favor.

Robles’ backing has continued despite his May 2023 arrest by Elk Grove police on suspicion of drunk driving. He subsequently acknowledged drunk driving during a City Council meeting.

This week, the Sacramento County Republican Party announced its endorsement of Parks. Robles is a Democrat.
