NO ICE FOR GOOD candlelight vigil in Elk Grove Pays Tribute to Renée Good
The event was organized after the killing of an American Citizen by an ICE agent in Minneapolis
A candlelight vigil organized by the Elk Grove-Laguna Indivisible chapter was held on the corner of Laguna Boulevard and Bruceville Road in Elk Grove tonight. The sunset event was to protest the actions by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and to honor Ms. Renée Good, who was killed by an ICE agent in Minneapolis.
Indivisible Elk Grove-Laguna organized tonight's event on short notice and expected about 60 participants. Organizers were heartened that even with short notice (Ms. Good was killed on January 7) and the event being held on a Sunday evening, by their count, over 250 people participated.
As part of the event, a member of the Indivisible group spoke about the event and the death of Ms. Good. See the video below.
Before the January 7 events, Elk Grove-Laguna has scheduled a protest rally for January 24 in Elk Grove.
