In Competitive CA-06 Race, Thien Ho Targets Kevin Kiley
Ho is reaching out to Democratic voters with typical talking points, such as Kiley's support President Trump's so-called unpopular "big, beautiful bill"
Even though prediction markets for California's 6th Congressional District are giving long odds to a Republican winning the seat, those odds are for the November election. There are six candidates in the June California primary election seeking to advance to the November election: one Republican and five Democratic candidates.
With only one Republican candidate, Congressman Kevin Kiley, and five Democratic candidates, who will splinter the partisan voters, Kiley's chances of advancing are good. With that in mind, the Democratic candidate, Sacramento County District Attorney Thien Ho, is targeting Kiley in his campaign messaging.
An example of this is a video Ho posted on social media yesterday. Kiley is the primary focus of the message.
Ho is undoubtedly reaching out to Democratic voters with typical talking points, such as Kiley's support President Trump's so-called unpopular "big, beautiful bill" that eliminated health care access for many people. As one of two Sacramento County law enforcement officers elected countywide, tough-on-criminals District Attorneys like Ho generally can expect support from independents, moderate Democrats, and some disaffected Republicans.
With about two months to the June primary, it will be worth watching Ho's campaign continues this strategy, and if the other Democratic candidates continue targeting Kiley or shift their messaging to fellow candidates.
