Galt Fourth of July celebrations include traditional street parade

Galt, Calif., has scheduled a full day of Independence Day festivities on Friday, July 4, 2025, promising a vibrant and traditional street parade as the centerpiece of its community-wide celebration.

The day's events begin bright and early with the Officer Tonn Memorial 5K Run/Walk, starting at 7:30 a.m. at 380 Civic Drive. Following this active start, a special Independence Day edition of the Saturday Market will open at 9 a.m. on 4th Street Promenade, offering a variety of local goods and crafts.

The highlight for many will be the traditional street parade, stepping off at 9:30 a.m.. While the exact route for 2025 should be confirmed closer to the date, typically it traverses key streets in the heart of Galt.

As evening approaches, the celebration shifts to Veterans Field (900 Caroline Avenue) with gates opening at 6 p.m. Here, attendees can enjoy live music, a diverse selection of food trucks, and a dedicated kids' zone for family fun.

For a unique viewing experience, the Gora Aquatic Center will host "Fireworks in the Pool" from 7 to 10 p.m., offering a chance to watch the fireworks while swimming (ticketed event). The grand finale of Galt's Independence Day will be a spectacular fireworks showcase, scheduled to light up the night sky at 9:30 p.m., visible from Veterans Field and surrounding areas.
