According to the required financial disclosures, Elk Grove District 2 Councilmember Rod Brewer accepted donations from builder groups and received contributions totaling $249.

On his California Form 460, Brewer reported the following significant contributions:

  • Committee for Home Ownership, North State Building Industry Association - $1,000
  • Sacramento Building Trades Council - $500
  • United Association of Journeymen & Apprentice Local 447 - $2,500
  • Tailored Homes, Inc. - $1,000
  • Sacramento Firefighters Local 522 - $2,500
  • Hanford Sand & Gravel - $1,000
  • River City Waste Recyclers, Brian Wilson, responsible officer - $499
  • Tsakopoulos Investments, Angelo G. Tsakopoulos - $249
  • Phoenix Enterprises - $250

During the six months ending June 30, Mr. Brewer received cash donations of $13,523. Brewer has $11,331 in his account after paying expenses.

Additionally, given the new campaign disclosure laws, the $249 donation from Tsakopoulos Investments suggests that the organization may have business before the Elk Grove City Council within the next 12 months.

Mr. Brewer faces scrutiny from voters in the rural District 2 area as the Summer Villas project progresses. One of that project's principals, Mr. Brian Wilson, contributed $499 to Brewer's reelection effort.
