Calif. 6th District Democratic Congressional Candidate Takes Aim at Kiley on ACA Vote
Sacramento County District Attorney Thien Ho.

In a social media post on Friday (see below), Sacramento County District Attorney and Democratic candidate for California's 6th Congressional District, Thien Ho, aimed at Republican Congressman Kevin Kiley. Mr. Ho criticized Kiley, who represents the pre-Proposition 3rd Congressional District, for voting against the extensions of Affordable Care Act subsidies.

The vote was a conundrum for Kiley, as he has sought to portray himself as moderate after the redrawn 3rd District now has a Democratic voter registration advantage. Kiley, who President Trump endorsed in his first congressional campaign, is a popular figure with the district's MAGA voters.

Interestingly, after 6th District Democratic Congressman Ami Bera decided to run in the newly drawn 3rd District, Kiley has deferred his decision on which district he will seek another term. Even though Ho is one of five Democratic candidates in the 6th District, he and former State Senator and Assemblymember Dr. Richard Pan are considered the front-runners in the June 2026 primary election.
