25-year-old woman killed in Elk Grove hit-and-run; EGPD search for dark SUV

A 25-year-old woman was killed Sunday evening in a hit-and-run collision on Bruceville Road, prompting a search for a driver who fled the scene, according to the Elk Grove Police Department.
The incident occurred shortly after 8 p.m. between Di Lusso Drive and Laguna Boulevard. Investigators said the woman was crossing the middle of the street when she was struck by a vehicle traveling southbound on Bruceville Road.
The pedestrian, whose identity has not yet been released pending notification of kin, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are searching for a suspect vehicle described as a dark-colored SUV. No further details regarding the driver or the vehicle’s specific make and model were immediately available.
Southbound Bruceville Road was closed from Di Lusso Drive to Laguna Boulevard for several hours as investigators processed the scene. While the roadway was expected to reopen late Sunday night, the investigation remains active.
